As the whole world goes online, every business is using the collaboration process to make the work done seamlessly. We share files online. We don’t need anyone to guide us from behind. If there is any change needed, it is done by the opposite person. To date, we have been aware of the feature. Now, Microsoft added something new to this. They introduced the Show Changes feature in Excel through their blog.
Show Changes Feature in Excel Adds a New Level to the Work
To date, one had to ask for editing permission in the Excel workbook shared by others. One had to share the file for collaboration. Now, it is possible to track changes with the help of the Show Changes feature in Web Excel.
This is a brilliant feature that lets you know who changes what, when, and where.
The Show Changes feature enables you to collaborate confidently with others by letting you see exactly what edits were made to your workbooks for up to 60 days. You can see details about who changed what, where, and when, along with the previous value of the cell for quick reversion, if needed.
You need to select the specific portion and right-click on it. The Show Changes option will appear there. If anyone mistakenly changes any significant portion of the data, you can easily catch and fix it. If the changes are made in the whole row, it is easily catchable.
Let’s see the steps to apply this feature.
- Open any Excel workbook
- Click Review, and go to Show Changes
You will see all the details on the right-hand side.
You can narrow down your searches by clicking on any specific range or cell >right-click on it.
Now, you don’t have to panic about the missing information. If someone tries to conspire, it will easily be caught.
This feature supports all the platforms starting from Windows, Mac, iPads, iPhones to Android and tablets. So, start sharing the Excel workbook and apply the Show Changes feature for the web by logging into your Microsoft 365 subscription.
As this is a very new feature, it will be exciting to see, at first hand, how it works.
So the new show changes feature in the web excel makes your life easy, doesn’t it.
