Honorable President, Joe Biden has also been informed about the issue. The spokesperson from the White House said,

The federal government is working actively to assess the implications of this incident, avoid disruption to supply and help the company restore pipeline operations as quickly as possible.

Colonial Pipeline, one of the largest refined products pipeline deals with gas, diesel, home heating oil, and jet fuel. Their business scatters across Texas and New Jersey with 5, 500 miles of pipelines connecting to more than 50 million people living in the Southern and Eastern parts of the US.

The largest pipeline is supplying 100 million gallons per day of gasoline. They are also supplying to the US military.

The Biden Administration is closely working towards protecting the country’s electric system supply. The Department of Energy is working with the company to root out the issue.

As per the information, 18 states are under temporary service right now. The USA government has called the state of emergency.

The ransomware attack has been a dreadful concerning matter over the years. The attacker demands a huge amount of money by freeing up the system.

We saw an uprising of this kind of attack in 2020 including 2, 400 organizations in the USA alone. Recently, Acer was hit by ransomware and demanded the largest record of an amount to date.

This causes inconveniences to the company as well as the users. The impact could increase the prices of gas in the future.

This could also be a big problem for the global economy.
