HP Printer not printing issue can occur for number of reasons, in this post we will see how to identify the cause and fix it.
hp printer fix

You have an HP Printer and it’s not printing, it could happen for a number of reasons, such as connectivity between the computer and the printer, too many print jobs stuck in the queue, printer driver, paper jam, the required ink has run out and in some cases either the color or the black ink is empty.

So to fix the problem, the first step that you should take is to check whether or not the copy is working. If the copy is not working, it could be a problem with the connectivity or printer software installed on the computer. If the copy is not working, you should check ink is not empty and for the jam or in rare cases the error message on the printer display.

Fixing HP Printer not printing issue

So you have checked that the copy is working fine, now let’s first identify why it’s not printing, check all the following points one by one.

Check the scanner from the computer

Open the scanning software and see if you can scan through the printer.

If the scanner is working fine

The printer connectivity is fine, now you need to check the Printer driver software.

If the Scanning is not working

The problem is either with the connectivity itself or the printer software installed in the computer.
For the Printer driver go here.

Check the Printer driver software

To check the printer driver software head over to the device manager, and select the printer from the Printer’s list, right-click on it, and go to the properties, in the General tab itself you will find the Manufacturer’s name.

If it’s not HP

Go to download the required printer driver and install it, by following the on-screen steps you can easily install it.

If it’s HP

In case the Printer driver is HP, reconfigure the printer on the computer.

Check the Printer connectivity

Your HP Printer is either on Wi-Fi or connected through a USB cable.

If it’s Wi-Fi

Get the Printer IP address from the printer itself, or from the router’s page and PING it from the computer. If PING is getting replies, there is no connectivity problem, reconfigure the printer and it will be fine.
If there is no reply, restart the printer and check PING again after a few seconds.

If it’s USB

Simply restart the printer, and if still nothing reconfigure it.
